Patrick Burns is the Head of Integrated Intelligence and Investigations for Standard Chartered Bank ASEAN & South Asia (ASA) Region. He is responsible for developing proactive intelligence to identify and mitigate risk as well resolving major cases with global impact to SCB’s risk profile. Patrick has been in legal and compliance within the financial services industry for more than 10 years, with experience implementing regulatory change in the AML space and large-scale detection systems in both North America and Asia Pacific. With a current focus on proactive intelligence-led detection for SCB, he develops tools and practices to de-risk through focused analytics and targeted investigations. Prior to joining SCB he worked with JPMorgan in New York and Singapore implementing and streamlining new AML detection systems. Patrick received a JD in Law from The University of DePaul in Chicago, USA and a MBA in International Finance from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
